The Institute for Political Science has seven research units. They are on the website of the International Politics area. Here you can get to know all the people who work in the International Politics area.

International relations are relationships that extend beyond national borders. It involves states, people, companies, or organizations. In this research unit, important questions of global politics are examined, for example:

  • How safe is the world?
  • What is the global order (the rules between countries)?
  • How do countries conduct foreign policy?
  • What international organizations are there?
  • What networks exist that extend across national borders?

Our researchers combine theories (explanations) with fact-based investigations (data, observations). They pay particular attention to current problems, for example:

  • Climate change
  • International conflicts (wars, disputes)
  • How power is changing in the world.

Students learn from us how international politics works. Students gain skills that are useful:

  • for science
  • for diplomacy (working for a country abroad)
  • for international organizations
  • for non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
